I.Beijing Mosque🕌

There are 72 mosques in Beijing, many of which have a history of hundreds of years. The combination of Beijing courtyard culture and mosques is rich in Chinese cultural characteristics.

  1. Niu Street Mosque

Niujie Worship Temple is the oldest halal temple in Beijing. Niujie Worship Temple is located in Niu Street in Guang'anmen. It was built in the 14th year of Liaotonghe (996 AD). It was built by Arab scholar Nasu Rudin. It is the oldest and largest mosque in Beijing and one of the world-famous mosques. In the tenth year of Chenghua in the Ming Dynasty (1474 A.D.), it was officially named a worship temple by the royal family. During the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, the worship temple was overhauled and expanded again, forming today's basic pattern.

2. Changying Mosque

Changyingcao is located near Chaoyang North Road, Chaoyang District. The temple was built during the Zhengde period of Emperor Wuzong of the Ming Dynasty, and Changying Village has a long history. In the early years of the Ming Dynasty, General Chang Yuchun camped here, so it was called Changying. Next to the main hall, there is a stone tablet erected in the 20th year of the Republic of China. The temple has three gates arranged from south to north, each of which is a three-door gate.

3. Haidian Mosque

Haidian Mosque is located at No. 27 Suzhou Street, Haidian District, adjacent to the former royal palace of the Qing Dynasty in the north. The mosque was built in the Ming Dynasty. The reconstructed main hall faces west and east. The main hall is connected, with a width of five rooms, and three halls each in the south and north. There is a women's hall on the west side of the North Hall.

4. Madian Mosque

At the end of the Ming Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, a large number of Yangdian people (tranking mutton) lived in Madian Village. It was a residential area for ethnic masses. In ancient times, this place was the starting point of the ancient road to Zhangjiakou, where many ethnic groups engaged in commerce lived. Madian was built during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. The number of people here is not second to that of Niu Street. The main hall is a three-ridge connected building, with a total of 16 rooms with five open rooms and three entrances.
